The room in my heart is infinite
There’s no limit to what can fit in it
And if love is what I give love is what I get

I wrote this song after attending my first meditation retreat at the Vallecitos Mountain Refuge in New Mexico more than twenty years ago. It reflects the powerful experience of practicing mindfulness of the heart, body, and spirit within a spiritual community.

Make today a day of peace

On the night of the recent US election, after helping to drive fellow Detroiters to the polls, I gathered with a few spiritual friends for an evening of meditation and mindfulness practice. We connected deeply to a place of peace, unity, and love, feeling supported by one another and by countless ancestors.

This path of healing, transformation, and awakening

and the ability to embrace it all with mindfulness and compassion

It was the week leading up to the Summer Solstice and the Strawberry Moon. We gathered on the Frog Holler Farm in Brooklyn, Michigan on Anishinaabe Aki in the 90+ degree heat and humidity to record my first non-children’s album in over a decade.

It In this time of ongoing climate crisis, war, and political polarization, I seek to offer my music in service of others and bring people together to build community. May we lift our voices together in song, reminding ourselves and one another of our sacred interconnections with all beings.all begins with an idea.
